Extinct is forever

I’d heard about this a few days ago from somewhere, but reading it in The Times today really brought home that the battle is lost: The last northern white rhinos in the wild are dead.

When I read Last Chance To See some years ago, the fear of losing these animals made me join Save the Rhino and get more interested in conservation. Back then, there were an estimated 20 animals left in the wild, but as of today, there are none. And we’ll never get them back. I’m sorry, future generations. Some of us tried 😦
